The Challenge


CRHoy stands as Costa Rica’s leading digital news platform, delivering immediate, accurate, and free information to the nation. Complimented by its subscription service, CRHoy Pro offers readers deeper benefits and access, whilst maintaining the same principles of clarity and authority.

To honor these values, we developed a brand system that carries the weight of journalism without sacrificing accessibility. For the logotype, we implemented a sans-serif typeface with adjusted letter spacing, anchored by a bold block of color that balances strength and legibility. The system is unified through a monochromatic palette, with a distinct red hue, a color that’s been part of the brand since its beginnings.

From there, we developed a comprehensive visual language that extends across every corner. A custom iconography system brings harmony and intuitive navigation to the reading experience, while social media guidelines ensure visual and tonal cohesion with the overall brand communication. At the heart of it all is the website: a central hub designed with editorial principles in mind. Readers could move seamlessly between categories, guided by clear segmentation and purposeful navigation.
