Illuminating the future of restaurant dining.

The Challenge


Komyo reimagines the traditional menu as a living, adaptable tool for the hospitality industry. Through a customizable digital platform paired with NFC-enabled cards and integrated analytics, restaurants gain the ability to streamline their guest interactions while gathering insights for smarter business decisions.

For this project, we started with a name that works on multiple levels. Drawing from Japanese, Komyō combines kō (light, radiance) and myō (bright, clear), speaking to the platform's mission of bringing clarity to restaurant operations. But there's a second layer: in Spanish, "comió" translates to "ate," creating a bilingual resonance that’s automatic and connects with purpose in an unexpectedly natural way.

From there, we expanded into a full visual system. Leaning into warmth and accessibility, bold illustrations are paired with an energetic color palette that creates a sense of approachability without losing sophistication. This further translates into the digital world, where it extends into a cohesive UI/UX experience and a community-first mindset for social media. Restaurant guides, neighborhood spotlights, and insider reviews position Komyo not just as software, but as a voice that restaurants and guests alike can trust.
