Bringing authentic taqueria flavors from Chihuahua to the world.

The Challenge


The visual identity  of Desterrados draws inspiration from the textures and tones of the Chihuahuan desert, creating a balance between rustic and refined. The striking landscapes, stretching from the Sierra to the desert, inspired the brand's name, Desterrados (Outcasts or Exiles). This embodies a rebellious, confident spirit while honoring the resilience and strength of its people, shaped by the region's dramatic contrasts.

Desterrados is a taquería in Chihuahua that celebrates northern Mexico's bold, authentic flavors. Rooted in local ingredients and techniques, it honors Chihuahua's regional cuisine while reinventing the taco experience.

We design  a warm, earthy color palette—terracottas, ochres, and muted yellows—complements bold, handcrafted typography, reflecting the harmony between tradition and modernity.

Illustrations play a key role in the brand's storytelling. Inspired by the desert's flora and fauna, they add a playful yet sophisticated touch to the identity. A standout symbol—a taco fused with a scorpion—captures the brand's rebellious spirit and deep connection to its environment. These elements extend across packaging, signage, and digital platforms, ensuring a cohesive and memorable experience.

Finally, the tagline, "LOS MÁS RECIOS DEL NORTE" (The North's Boldest), encapsulates the essence of Desterrados—a place where flavors transcend boundaries, and every bite tells a story.
